Dr. Aleksandr Huzeev
Vise President
Aleksandr Huzeev is a known expert in low-temperature plasma and electrical discharges in gas, the author of over 40 scientific publications and numerous patents. His primary research interest is high-pressure pulse volume discharges in gas. He was the first to discover a new form of discharge in noble gases - heavy-current diffusion discharge which allows for high energy deposition efficiency. His work in pulse volume discharge contraction provided possible argumentation for how cathode spots are formed; his investigation of self-sustained discharges has led to the development of new ways of pumping high power pulsed gas lasers. Aleksandr Huzeev has made a considerable contribution to the development and evolution of high power pulsed engineering and technological equipment.
Special Design Bureau for high power electronics SB RAS (later known as Design and Technology Institute) headed at the time by Aleksandr Huzeev has built GIT-12 - terawatt generator facility listed on national Unique Research Facilities register. Apart from his research activities Aleksandr Huzeev has a solid experience in organizational management:
1980 - Scientific Secretary at the Institute of High Current Electronics SB RAS
1987-1998 - head of the Special Design Bureau for high power electronics SB RAS
1998 - Deputy Director Research and Operations at the Institute of High Current Electronics SB RAS
Since 2002 he works as Deputy Chair at Tomsk Scientific Center SB RAS where he supports and coordinates all vital functions of local Academtown.
